ANA Holdings Reports 13% Drop in First-Half Net Profit Despite Record Sales

ANA Holdings Inc. reported Thursday that its net profit for the first half of the fiscal year ended September fell to 80.78 billion yen (approximately $530 million), a 13.3% decrease year-on-year. Although the company’s operating revenue grew, higher aircraft maintenance costs offset some of the gains.

The report shows that for the half-year ended September 30, the company achieved sales of 1.1 trillion yen, a 9.7% increase year-on-year. However, operating profit decreased by 16.5% to 108.37 billion yen. All Nippon Airways, as the core subsidiary of the holding group, directly influenced the overall financial performance.

Key Points:

  • ANA Holdings’ first-half net profit decreased 13.3% year-on-year.
  • Sales reached 1.1 trillion yen, up 9.7% year-on-year.
  • Operating profit fell 16.5%, mainly due to rising aircraft maintenance costs.
